Pakuranga - Musick Point return
Details
Hi all, This is a ride I'm sure you will enjoy, so lets do it!!.
Pakuranga to Musick Point and back to Marina for lunch - Tuesday 10th March, start 10.30am
This is a relatively flat run suitable for both normal and E-Bikes. Straight forward ride along the Pakuranga Rotary path and through to the Marina where we continue on alongside the beach to Musick Point. After admiring the fabulous views and taking the group photo, we reverse course to the Marina for lunch before slowly winding our way back to the cars.
Start point is the end of Kerswill Place (cul-de-sac), Pakuranga which is the first left after the old Tamaki river bridge going from Panmure Centre to Pakuranga. If you are coming on the South Eastern Motorway when you get to Pakuranga turn left and then left again pointing back to Panmure and it is the last road on the right before the bridge. Kerswill place is a quiet dead end street with parking and access at the end onto the Rotary path.
If you have not done the Pakuranga Rotary path before then it is an Auckland classic which is well worth the effort. It runs from the bridge all along the Tamaki River past St Kents, numerous yacht moorings and ends in a park a couple of k’s short of the Half Moon Bay Marina. Not completely flat but rolling with the odd lump.
Bucklands beach is flat but very pleasant tracking alongside the beach until you get to the end where you head up the hill through the golf course to Musick point. If you have a good camera bring it along as there are great views up there. The hill is not that onerous.
There is a variety of food options available for lunch at the Marina cafe.
Total distance is about 25-30ks.
So if you would like come for a ride in the sun come along. As is normal:
