The Amalfi Curse Discussion

Hi everyone.

I scheduled this a week in advance of our usual meets (second Saturday) because I, um, overbooked June 13 with another group event.

We are reading The Amalfi Curse. It is a dual timeline novel set on the Amalfi Coast, blending historical fiction, magical realism and mystery. It follows naval archeologist Haven as she investigates shipwrecks and tries to find her late father's sunken treasure. She uncovers a centuries old curse and the legend of the sea-witch, Strega name Mari, whose story unfolds the past. The modern day events, including strange storms, seem connected to the ancient magic and Mari's forbidden love story. Haven will have to confront the supernatural to save the town.

We'll meet at the coffee shop adjacent to the Mariner's Museum at CNU. Somewhere in the museum is an antique Venetian gondola that might be worth taking a peek at. Also, it's a great place to take a walk after our meeting.
