What we’re about
Can you be good at public speaking without practicing?
No. Well, at least for the majority of us.
This meetup group is all about practicing to embrace our fear of public speaking and still SPEAK UP. So, simply follow us and keep attending our virtual and in-person workshops which we will be starting from December 2023.
Our philosophy:
We love to fail because we know that is the price to pay for progress.
So.
Fail Early. Progress Early.
Fail Quickly. Progress Quickly.
Fail Frequently. Progress Frequently.
Fail Well. Progress Well.
Don't think too much about our philosophy, you will see us living it during our workshops anyway. Our approach is purely focused on vulnerability and authenticity. So feel free to allow yourself to make those mistakes fast and develop your skills quicker.
Ok, who am I?
My name is Vijay. After 15 years of working in the data analytics industry, I became a trainer for data professionals on communication skills and data storytelling.
Too much of jargon?
Sorry, really sorry, here is the simpler one.
I train people to speak up, so they speak their mind :-)
How do I do this?
Collaborating through MindSpeaking.
(Yeah, I know. That's the name. Very precise, right!)
I welcome you to explore what we do at MindSpeaking using our links below.

For those who didn't follow the link above, we focus on and train data professionals on how to be an effective communicator so that they can add more value to their business. Luckily, it is helping them in their personal lives as well. Its genuinely fulfilling to witness the positive impact we are creating in their lives.
We have seen in our workshops that it is not the numbers or data that is making it harder to communicate. Its the fear of public speaking and being judged. The fear is the HUGE part.
Now, we want to help you embrace this HUGE fear and speak up. Speak up confidently at your work, business, family, school, college, bar, bus, park, pizza collection, take away joints, salons, swimming pool, gym...where ever you are.
Have you ever heard of the saying from Martha Beck (NY Times best selling author), "The way we do anything is the way we do everything."
Its how we approach one thing often mirrors how we approach everything. So, if you rock confidence in your speech, you're likely to tackle everything else with that same boldness.
Ok, enough of this fluff. I hear your mind, saying, what's in it for you from these workshops?
Here we go:
- Learn tips and techniques to become comfortable at public speaking.
- Loads of opportunities to stand before a bunch of people and speak up. (Remember, practice makes progress.)
- Personalized feedback on your speech to improve further from one or all of our trainers.
- Watch and learn from other speaker's learning journey.
- Taste the life that you have never tasted before. Find your new YOU after exploring your authentic self.
- Become comfortable to share your opinion confidently.
- If you have been through any short term training on public speaking, come along to practice your speech as well. It gets rusty otherwise.
What do we do in our workshop?
Practice. Practice. Practice.
In the realms of speaking, presenting, or performing, we all face a choice in how we project ourselves. We ponder, "Should I craft an image that I believe my audience will endorse, or should I take the chance of revealing my authentic self?"
This decision, this tiny decision you make in your head, shapes whether we aim for perfection or authenticity. By addressing and answering this question, you open the door to developing a speaking style rooted in your inherent strengths. We help you align with your authenticity in our workshops.
- Short warm up exercise to shake your comfort zone.
- Tips to find your natural style of speaking.
- Practically apply the theory. Individual slot for attendees to stand up and face the audience or virtually address the audience. If more people show up, we will do it as breakout groups.
- Feedback on your experience from you, me and a couple of other attendees. (Your feedback is very important as it will help you to reflect on your actions which will make you learn quicker.)
- Casual catch up after the meetup.
How much it is?
Free for online workshops.
For in-person, we are going to keep it as donations to cover the costs of the venue hire.
If you are a student or job seeker, no pressure to donate. Seriously, don't feel obligated.
If you are a working professional, feel free to donate. We will leave a box in the room somewhere, so you can drop off anything you feel like.
The final fluff:
Mastering public speaking is a game-changer! It goes beyond work presentations and college talks, shaping your inner strengths and boosting your social connections. Expressing yourself becomes a breeze. Even if public speaking isn't your jam, join us, and we promise you'll walk out not just with speaking skills but oozing confidence!
See you in the workshop.
Feel free to join us as we are friendly folks who are not here to judge you but to nudge you to grow.
Thank you,
Embraced imperfection,
