Hi Everyone,

This will be an online version of our regular meeting.

NOTE: It is mandatory to have your camera on at our meetings as this helps create a feeling of safety and trust among our members.

If you have never participated in an online meeting before, here are some things you will need to know in advance.

You will need to sign up for Zoom in advance and make sure that it is downloaded and working on your computer before the meeting starts.

Ajay will be acting as the facilitator and will cue one person to share at a time. It is okay to pass.

He usually start with a one-word check in on how you are feeling that day.
Then we going around and state one success and one challenge we have had in the past week or two.

When a person has shared, the facilitator may ask a follow-up question or two, but we do ask that participants mostly refrain from asking each other questions. This prevent participants from feeling like they have to disclose details about their lives than they may not be ready to share.

After the person has shared, the facilitator will ask if they are open to feedback. NOTE: Feedback is not advice giving. It is reflecting in your own experiences and seeing if you may have experienced something similar that may be helpful to others. Feedback can also simply be encouragement to the person who has shared.

Keep in mind, that none of us are professionals and we are here to offer each other support and ideas that worked for us. We always advocate for all of our members to seek professional help when needed.

We end our meetings with a one word check out of how we are feeling now and reflect on one thing we are grateful for in our lives.

You can also just sit back and listen if that is what is more comfortable for you.
