Scout the Nehalem River basin area in Tillamook Forest for Winter Camp location

Scout the Nehalem River area with us! At our last meetup, the group discussed doing a scouting event around the Nehalem River area to find a good winter camping spot. I reached out to some friends who live in Lincoln City and have scouted this area frequently and offered up a decent set of roads to check out.

I have personally NOT checked out this area, so it will be a first for most of us. Be prepared, bring extra gasoline, snow chains, and a tow line / whatever recovery gear you have lying around. While I don't anticipate snow as the ceiling is 2000 FT, if it's cold enough it could snow so better to be prepared than not.

Cell coverage will likely be zero, so please purchase a GMRS Radio from Amazon or any sporting good store, nothing super special but that's what we'll be using to communicate. If you have a HAM radio, that is good for additional communication.

As with anything, you attend these events at your own risk! By attending this event you agree to hold harmless the organizers and / or anyone who attends. Meaning if you roll your rig, or slide in to a tree and damage your ride, that's your responsibility!
