What we’re about
Join us to learn & share knowledge about application security via presentations, hands-on exercises, and sometimes CTFs (capture the flags). If your into ethical hacking, penetration testing, or secure coding then check us out.
BTW - OWASP is global (https://OWASP.org). We are the Delaware chapter. The official home page for the Delaware chapter is https://owasp.org/www-chapter-delaware/ (That is the place to look if things with Meetup go sideways.)
We plan to meet approx. monthly (or every other month) in northern Delaware for presentations and talks on all aspects of software security.
We encourage everyone to participant. Got a recent school project you want to present? A quick tutorial? This is a good place to practice your presentation skills.
The chapter is committed to providing an engaging experience for all skill levels, from students to accomplished professionals. The Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) is dedicated to making application security visible by empowering individuals and organizations to make informed decisions about true application security risks. The OWASP Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit worldwide charitable organization. OWASP does not endorse or recommend commercial products or services. Instead, we allow our community to remain vendor neutral with the collective wisdom of the best individual minds in security worldwide.
There is a mailing list for the Delaware chapter here (remember mailing lists?): https://groups.google.com/a/owasp.org/d/forum/delaware-chapter
Like all OWASP chapters our meetings are free and open to anyone.

See all- MetaCTF May 2025 Flash CTFLink visible for attendees
This free capture the flag (CTF) event is hosted by MetaCTF.com, and will cover challenges in Web Exploitation, Forensics, and more.
There will be 5 challenges, and you will have 2 hours to solve as many as you can.
Participation is individual and free to enter. Although participation is individual, OWASP Delaware will have a private scoreboard. #fancy
Step 0) To join the private scoreboard RSVP at Meetup (a.k.a. "Attend") this event. You will see the scoreboard key upon RSVP.
Step 1) Then register for the CTF at https://mctf.io/may2025
Step 2) From the MetaCTF Dashboard, click "Compete" next to the May 2025 event to access the CTF site.
Step 3) Go to the "Scoreboard" page and click "+ Join a Scoreboard". You will be able to enter the private scoreboard key (from Step 0).
Step 4) During the event join the OWASP Delaware Discord (below) to boast of p0wnage, or to ask for help. For practice, check out the challenges and solutions from a previous Flash CTF at https://mctf.io/practice. #TheMoreYouKnow
BTW - I was told the private scoreboard key will also work for the (past) April Flash CTF.
During the event we can chat on the OWASP Delaware Discord. Don't know where that is? DM me or another OWASP Delaware chapter co-lead for details.
Disclaimer I saw on the MetaCTF practice CTF: "By signing up for this CTF, you consent to be contacted by MetaCTF or sponsors about their services." ¯\(ツ)/¯
PS: This event might get an optional physical location for those that want to collab IRL. Standby for emails via Meetup for more details (sent to those that RSVP here at Meetup for this event).
