Growing pains: How security changes as your startup develops

Details

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ABSTRACT ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
If you have started or are a part of a small-yet-mighty software business, you know first-hand how busy it can be. You wear many hats, juggle many tasks, and put out many fires - and that is to get your product off the ground. I have worked with heaps of companies that fit that description, and when you mention the words 'security' you can often feel the energy get sucked out of the room. It is a pretty daunting subject, especially with the current state and popularity of cyber security in the news.

Join us while we discuss how to scope the size of your security needs and share practical, low-cost steps you can take towards security - depending on how big your startup is. If you have had any victories (or lessons learned the hard way) when setting good security foundations for your startup, bring them along too!

Erica Anderson (@sputina)
Erica (she/her) is just a huge ol' nerd. She has been a security consultant, security platform engineer, incident responder, security analyst, and instructor. Right now she spends most of her time as the COO and Co-Founder of SafeStack where they are all about secure development training and community building.
