OWASP Dublin - May Meetup

OWASP Dublin are delighted to announce KPMG will be sponsoring & hosting the next OWASP Dublin chapter meetup.

We will have two great talks from industry experts, John Marmelstein, Ritesh Bhat and Muath Sharawi, details can be found below:

Speaker 1: Muath Sharawi is an associate director in the KPMG Cyber Defense and Response team, with over a decade of experience assisting organisations in improving their cybersecurity posture through offensive security. His primary focus is on red and purple team exercises, in addition to infrastructure and application security assessments.

Speaker 2: Ritesh Bhat is a senior consultant in the KPMG Cyber Defense and Response Team. He has almost 6 years of experience in the industry specialising in Offensive Security and Incident Response. Apart from that he has experience in deploying and managing Endpoint Security stacks. He also has knowledge in the areas of Malware analysis and forensics.

Talk Description:
Our presentation covers the life cycle of cyber-attacks, focusing on a real-world incident involving a threat actor group that exploited a public-facing server to compromise the network. Topics include common initial access vectors, recent trends in cyber attacks, and a detailed walkthrough of the attack, highlighting the tactics and techniques employed

We will also hear from our third speaker John Marmelstein.

John is currently an independent security consultant. Previously he was with Oracle for about 10 years. Focus areas include access controls, and technology risk in general.

John will be talking to us about using a test based approach to managing complex data access rules.
