Abstract:
This session introduces the modern car-hacking attack surface and practical approaches to identifying risks across vehicle systems. We’ll cover how ISO 21434 and TARA help structure threat modeling for automotive architectures, highlight common attack paths, and show how to translate threat insights into testable security requirements. Time permitting, the session will conclude with hands-on demonstrations of fundamental CAN-bus attacks to illustrate practical exploitation techniques and defensive countermeasures.
Short bio:
Kartheek Lade is a security researcher focused on Automotive and IoT ecosystems. He contributes to community initiatives (Seasides, Automotive Security Research Group - ASRG) and regularly speaks and trains at international conferences on vehicle security. Kartheek develops practical tooling and hands-on labs to help professionals learn real-world automotive attack and defence techniques.
