AI in your IDE - Building a team of bots
Details
Join OWASP LasVegas and Cyroot Academy are happy to have Matt Raio hosting a 2 hour workshop dedicated to understanding and setting up your IDE to effectively use AI.
This will be a hybrid event!!... In person? Bring a charged laptop.
This workshop guides participants through a three-stage arc: grounding in MCP architecture and Git/GitHub boundaries, hardening environments through Python virtual isolation and disciplined secrets management, then applying that foundation hands-on by cloning and processing the OWASP SPVS compliance repository within their IDE of choice—interactive VS Code or deterministic PyCharm—culminating in a scripted verification of the finished setup.
We will have food and refreshments, and will even hold a raffle for a few small prizes at the end for all participants of the workshop.
It will be harder to assist remotely so please plan on stopping by.
Prerequisites: (This was covered in a recent event but we can offer some assistance at the beginning)
- IDE Installed (VS Code or PyCharm)
- AI of choice (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, etc) with extension installed in the IDE
- Github account
