Rob van der Veer is a top voice in AI security. He has over 33 years of experience in AI, software engineering, and security. He is Senior Principal Expert at the Software Improvement Group, co-editor of the EU AI Act security standard and the main author of ISO/IEC 5338 on the AI lifecycle. Rob founded the OWASP AI Exchange, opening up the global conversation on AI security through open-source collaboration, for which he set up a liaison partnership between OWASP and international standardization.
Rob advises National Cyber Security Centers, governments, enterprises, and institutions worldwide. He has delivered over 200 speaking engagements. His most recent awareness initiative is a children’s book: Luna and the magic AI paintbrush.

At OWASP, Rob co-leads the AI security and privacy guide including the AI Exchange, co-leads OpenCRE and contributes to SAMM.
