November meetup: Cyber Range event
Details
CMD+CTRL Security Cyber Range (rescheduled)
REGISTER ASAP (even if you're not positive you'll make it)
for the "Happy Hacksgiving" event on November 25th: https://web.cmdnctrlsecurity.com/hacktrack
If coming in person:
- BRING A LAPTOP
- PIZZA AND DRINKS PROVIDED
For November's meeting we welcome all to engage in an interactive, hands-on attack simulation provided by CMD+CTRL Security. Info about the kinds of ranges CMD+CTRL runs at https://www.cmdnctrlsecurity.com/training/cyber-range. This will be a basic/beginner range, so no previous penetration testing experience is needed!
Three hours not enough? The challenge is open through Friday that week, so there should be plenty of time to reach for those sweet leader-board bragging rights between helpings of stuffing, mashed potatoes, and third-down conversions. So bring your laptop, your hacker handle, and a fun spirit to enjoy moving at your own speed and breaking things!
Approximate agenda:
5:30 - Doors open; socializing/connecting, food, OWASP announcements
6:00 - Hands-on attack simulation
Please remember to register and keep your in-person registration up to date so we know how many to expect.
When you register, put msp in front of handle, so we can filter on our players
You can use tools such a ZAP and Burp Suite. If you want them, make sure they are installed ahead of time.
Make sure you registered at both basecamp (you get this link when you register for the event) and https://cmdnctrl.net/
This link will have guides on the event to help you prepare. https://cmdnctrl.net/hacking/guides
