• 7:45 p.m. - Review of OWASP NZ Day 2025, Technical Talk

We present an introductory talk about the OWASP Top 10 (2021 edition) with a new item each meeting.

Our Top 10 topic for Nov 2025 will be A08:2021 - Software and Data Integrity Failures.

Technical Topic Speaker: Austin Chamberlain
Talk Title: The Security Software Stack

What tools are available to a cyber defender? What does the stack of software look like, and how do they interact? What level of resources do you need to use the full range of tools?

This talk will give an overview of defence tools for information and cyber security: firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, SOAR, and so on. We'll cover how they're deployed as a capability, what you need to implement them, and how your workflow can use them.

The Auckland-area OWASP Meetup usually takes place on the third Tuesdays of March, May, July, September, and November. There is no Meetup in January, as our members enjoy their holidays.
