Welcoming everyone back this August for another OWASP Wellington presentation! If your passion is in IT and you're interested in learning more about information security, please join us for an evening of networking, pizza and presentations from a member of our local security community.

We're still in the finalising stages of migrating to a new platform, but we will give you plenty of warning before it happens. In the meantime, please also check out https://owasp.org/www-chapter-new-zealand/ for future events as are likely to be migrating away from Meetup in the near future.

Attending
We're hosting this meetup at PrivSec, located on Level 7, 117 Lambton Quay in the Wellington CBD. The talk kicks off at 6pm, but we'll have some snacks before-hand. Arrive any time from 5:30pm onwards!

Please RSVP as soon as possible if you're looking to attend so we can gauge numbers! If you are unwell please RSVP "no" and do not attend. We'll look forward to seeing you when you're well.

In the event the doors/lifts are locked, please contact Jack Moran on 022 313 9028.

Speaker: Nathan Ellison

After years of getting hacked, web applications now employ advanced security features to prevent such hacks. However, if you don't implement your security properly, those very protections can wind up getting you hacked. This is the story of how I stumbled upon a really strange bug in a popular web framework and how I navigated my first responsible disclosure. There will be danger, excitement, and CVEs!
