About us
Maybe you’ve done a mindfulness course. Maybe you’ve used a meditation app. Maybe you’ve read about Buddhism. And maybe you’re thinking - what now?
There is a next step.
It’s called Sangha (Buddhist community). People say that being part of the Oxford Buddhist Centre is so much better than meditating and practising Buddhism on their own.
Come and see for yourself!

Rewild your mind
Botley Park, Oxford, GBSpending the summer days inside? Feeling in need of more connection with nature?
Drop-in any Tuesday from 14th July to 25th August to meditate with us in Botley Park
#### Walk me through what'll exactly happen...
As you head over to the far side of the park, you might meet someone else who's on their way too. When we see you we'll wave to show where we are. People will probably be talking and setting up their seats as you arrive - feel free to join in the conversations and ask questions.
After that, each evening will be different, but most will include a short Buddhist ritual to kick off the event, led meditations, some movement, and some discussion. We'll end with any notices, a request for donations, and head off in our own time.
#### Do I need to book?
It's a drop-in class so feel free to join on the evening itself. If it's your first time, you might want to arrive at 6.15pm or so to get settled in.
#### What should I wear?
It depends on the weather... Though, as the evenings can get cool quite quickly, best to err on the side of warm, loose-fitting, and comfortable.
#### What do I need to bring?
We'll be sitting in front of two ash trees on the grass on the far side of Botley Park. If you want to sit on the floor, you should bring a firm cushion (or two) or stool, a picnic rug or equivalent, and anything else you need to stay warm. Or alternatively bring a camping/light chair.
#### Do I need to know how to meditate already?
No, everything will be explained as we go along.
#### What happens if it rains?
We'll get wet. It's not so bad...
All our classes are run on a donation basis. Please consider donating via the donations page.
