A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed so far to help support the group β your kindness and support are genuinely appreciated.
Since my original message on Saturday and the announcement post, 21 members have now contributed, with the majority paying the suggested amount of Β£5, which is a really encouraging start. However, we are still quite far from covering the annual Meetup subscription costs needed to keep the group running.
As many of you know, all events, walks, socials, and activities are organised voluntarily. In addition to the Meetup subscription, organisers often personally cover costs such as petrol, parking, planning time, and administration simply because we enjoy creating an active and friendly community for everyone.
I completely understand that contributions are optional, and I truly appreciate every bit of support, no matter the amount. Even small contributions from more members would make a real difference.
However, if we are still far from reaching the required amount by 24th May, I may need to review how the group operates in the future β whether that means introducing a compulsory small annual contribution system or, in the worst-case scenario, pausing or closing the group on Meetup.
If we raise more than needed, any extra funds will either go towards next yearβs subscription costs or towards organising a community social or party for members later in the year.
