🥾 Thrupp Countryside & River Walk
Join us for a lovely circular walk starting from The Jolly Boatman pub in Thrupp, exploring the banks of the River Cherwell, Thrupp Community Woodland and the surrounding countryside.
The walk is approximately 7.5 km (4.7 miles) and is relatively flat, with a nice mixture of woodland, open countryside and riverside paths. Along the way, we'll pass the historic St Mary the Virgin Church and Holy Cross Church, as well as some interesting local history.
🌳 Walk details:
• Distance: approximately 7.5 km
• Relatively flat and suitable for a range of fitness levels
• Mixture of woodland, open countryside and riverside paths
• There are some stiles along the route
• Some sections can become overgrown or muddy, depending on the season, so long trousers and suitable walking shoes are recommended
• We may encounter livestock, so please keep dogs on leads
📍 Meeting point: The Jolly Boatman, Thrupp
⏰ **Meeting time: 1.30p -**we'll set off promptly
🚗 Parking: There is free parking near the pub, making this an easy meeting point if you're driving.
🚌 Coming from Oxford city centre: Thrupp is also accessible by bus, so you don't need to drive if you'd prefer public transport. Please check the latest timetable before travelling.
🍺 After the walk: We'll have the option of stopping for a drink at The Jolly Boatman or at Annie's Tea Room, depending on what people fancy.
