Picturesque Farm Trail Walk & Picnic – Flanders Nature Center

Join us for a relaxing day outdoors at the beautiful Flanders Nature Center & Land Trust in Woodbury. This 2,100-acre preserve offers rolling farm fields, scenic vistas, ponds, historic barns, and peaceful woodland trails—perfect for a casual walk and picnic.

Bring your own sandwich or other lunch and drink as we’ll start by eating there...at the picnic tables... to enjoy lunch together before heading out for a leisurely walk on the 2.2-mile Van Vleck Outer Loop. Along the way we’ll take a short detour to visit the tranquil Botany Pond, a lovely spot for photos and a quiet moment in nature.
The pace will be relaxed and social, and there’s no obligation to complete the full 2.2-mile loop—feel free to turn back whenever you like.
