Microsoft Fabric: Too Many Options - Which One(s) Should I Choose?
Microsoft Fabric is an end-to-end data and analytics platform comprising multiple distinct services that can each achieve the same goal. For example, to perform the "T" step in "ELT" (that is, "Transform") we could use Dataflows Gen2, PySpark Notebooks, Python Notebooks, Spark Job Definitions, User Data Functions, SQL scripts in SQL Endpoints and Data Warehouses, Eventstreams, and so on. Regardless of whether you're new to Microsoft Fabric or you're an experienced user, it can always be a challenge to know which set of services is right for your workload.
In this talk, we'll implement the same end-to-end data pipeline using the same real-world data across a handful of these services, comparing things like performance, cost, developer experience, testability and monitoring & observability. Spoiler alert - there is no "correct" architecture. It will entirely depend on the factors that fit your solution's needs most appropriately. My goal is to show you the traits of each service that will help you make that decision for your own project.
This event is sponsored by Humand Talent Solutions, who provide the best technical talent for local start-ups and scale-ups, and Packt Books who provide the eBooks for the prize draw.
