What we’re about
The ACCU is a long standing organisation dedicated to programming in all
forms, but especially to systems programming languages.
Find us at https://accu.org/
Rust is a young and exciting programming language that is rapidly replacing C/C++ as the go to systems language and eroding Python at the high level. It has a huge following and has been voted most loved programming language on stack overflow in 2019.
If you want to find out how to use Rust to crunch data in parallel, replace sluggish python and R functions, build super fast web servers or write excellent games in a new language join this group!

See all- Building AI chatbots with Webassembly, Rust, and LeptosSt Aldates Tavern, Oxford
Webassembly and the rest of the browser's functionally have always coexisted uneasily, and even the recent Webassembly 3 brings us little closer to allowing direct DOM manipulation.
But Rust offers a lot of tooling to paper over the gaps, and it's possible -- perhaps even pleasant -- to write sophisticated webapps without touching JavaScript.
Thomas Down - veteran genome sequencer and genius - will be demonstrating Leptos , a somewhat-React-like UI library for Rust. Time and interest permitting, we'll use it to build a simple LLM chatbot interface.
