Embark on a full-day exploration of Garigal National Park and the stunning Middle Harbour Creek, right here in the city! This challenging trek covers over 22km (map and offline route in TrekMeet), offering an incredible mix of deep bushland, waterside views, and historic sites. Good fitness is essential, as we will maintain a steady pace of around 4km/h with short breaks.

Before you RSVP, be sure to read the full description:

  • Difficulty and Terrain: Medium to Hard. Expect mostly rugged bushland and harbourside tracks connected by a few paved streets and reserves, featuring multiple steep elevation gains.
  • Start: 9:00 AM sharp at the Spit West Reserve Bus Stop (please arrive 5-10 minutes early so we can head off on time). Finish: Lindfield Station.
  • Route: We will follow the famous Harbour to Hawkesbury track, venturing into Garigal National Park to skirt the scenic edges of Bantry Bay and follow Middle Harbour Creek. After crossing the Roseville Bridge, we will continue exploring the western side of Garigal before finally leaving the national park and navigating the local streets to our finish point at Lindfield Station.
  • Gratuity: A $5 contribution is appreciated to help cover our Meetup subscription and group running costs. Carry Cash or ask for PayID.

Important:

  • What to Bring: Wear proper hiking shoes, bring ample hydration and electolytes (Minimum 2 L of water- No refill available), pack enough snacks/lunch, sunscreen, hat, and weather protection, basic first-aid.
  • RSVP responsibly – Treat it as a commitment; update or cancel 12–24 hrs before.
  • Arrive early – All route/gear info is in the description; hosts can’t field messages during the event.
  • Stay together – It's a volunteer-led community walk; keep the host in sight and let them know if you leave.
