P is for Perth, Let’s take the Tay to Destiny Then Touchdown at the Airport…
Details
"Let’s take the Tay to Destiny “, sounds like the chorus from a Proclaimers song 😄.
With the weather at this time of year sometimes making hill walks a little dodgy then it’s a good time to daunder around some of the lower areas across our great country. This one is a little different as it’s a linear reconnaissance walk in preparation for a motoring themed walk later in the year.. It’s around 9miles. However its untested!! I expect the route should work as planned but please expect that we may need to adapt “on the hoof” so to speak. Im confident our locals from the area will support keeping us right.
We start by parking up at Perth Airport ///regularly.jaunts.wanted and taking the 57 bus into Perth to Bridge End Court stop. We will head then to the walk start point beside the Albert Memorial, North Inch. ///boot.league.launch I’ll add a question in the RSVP so If you would rather park and/or meet in Perth and bus back after the walk we wil know.
We will be walking alongside the Tay out to the newest crossing of our longest river, the Destiny bridge. After crossing the Tay we head cross country to the Airport… Preferably via the race course, Old Scone and Muirward Woods, or to the North of the new Scone bypass via Sheriftown Wood. TBD..
We conclude our walk at the Touchdown Café within the airport grounds for tea and tasty treats.
Places are limited on this walk, so if you know you will be unable to make the walk, please be courteous and update your RSVP so others can attend.
