Special Event - Car Museum, Vintage Bus, Perth Car Show, and a Walk

This is not a normal walk and definitely one for any car fans. Although your welcome to join for just the walk if you wish. As always, we are all responsible for our own decisions, safety etc as such this Meetup event is making you aware of what’s on so we can all as a group of individuals can enjoy it together.

The Event has 4 elements:
A tour of the Morris Leslie Private Car Museum @ Perth airport, there is a fee/charitable donation to enter the museum. Last year it was £10. It opens at 10am and depending on our interest and how busy the museum is we may be in there for a couple of hours.
It's a collection of cars and memorabilia you will recognise from “our” lifetimes and is well presented

Part 2 we then take a free vintage bus ride from Perth airport to the Perth Concert Hall, I will try determine if there is a schedule and propose we travel into Perth together. Last year dogs were allowed on the bus!

Next, it’s the car show on Tay Street, I missed it last year so not sure how this plays out. This year I read the/a Batmobile is on show as well as a Benetton F1 car. I suggest another couple of hours here and everyone takes lunch/refreshments you prefer before we head back.

The final element is a 9 mile walk back to the Airport via the Destiny bridge. I propose that we depart around 14:00 from the Albert Memorial at North Inch. As the cafe at the airport will probbaly be closed by the time we get back I'm trying to sort a stop off on the way for tea & cakes more on that when I sort something!!

As this is more about the car events that a walk we can determine an alternative shorter route back should weather be against us.

It is a social event with a walk so the timing is open to discussion and change as it best suits the group.

Distance: Approx 9.0 miles
Duration: 3-4 hours approx, including breaks.
Ascent: "Undulations" totalling approx. 100m
Pace: Medium, But Faster or shorter route if it’s raining 😄
Surface: A mix of Tarmac tracks/roads and animal/local tracks…

Car Sharing, it's friendly, helps the planet and parking spaces. As well as saving resources it can help get other folks out for the day. 🛖🚙🧑🏻‍🤝‍🧑🏻
Please wear suitable walking footwear for the weather👢 Walking poles can be useful for the ascents and descents. I propose we will be stopping for coffee/cakes at a convenient point TBA!
Loona welcomes well-behaved dogs 🐕 on this walk, Expect to use leads when conditions are appropriate, or you are requested by anyone on the walk, And don't forget the poo bags 💩
