Social Event - Doune Hill Climb and a Walk

Another social event and sorry it's definitely another one for any car fans. It was as a result of a walk earlier in the year by Shona and some follow on reckie work, your welcome to join for just the walk if you wish. As always, we are all responsible for our own decisions, safety etc as such this Meetup event is making you aware of what’s on so we can all as a group of individuals can enjoy it together.
The Event has 3 elements:
It’s proposed that we meetup in Doune and take a scenic walk to the event. The route is still being finalised but expected to be around 5 miles

The walk will end at the race event just outside Doune during the expected event lunch break. If the format is the same as the reckie meeting you will be able to wander around the paddock area to see the race cars up close, take pictures and talk with the drivers and pit crews. We will then make our way into the restricted area and up the hill. Tickets are on sale at the gate and are expected to be £10 per person. Racing should recommence at 13:00 so if the weather is good it’s suggested that we lunch at the viewing area on the hill before they restart ??
The race format is timed runs with the cars competing coming past every 30-50 seconds or so. After approx 15 cars reach the top they then come back down in convoy so you get a second look at them. This repeats until all the cars racing have had a couple of runs. It’s a real mix of cars and the reckie included old chain driven three wheelers to v8 single seaters. Some cars appear standard and others are heavily modified cars!

The 3rd stage of the day is a short 30 minute walk back to our parked cars.
It is a social event with a walk so the timing is flexible and open to discussion and change as it best suits the attendees.

Please wear suitable walking footwear for the weather👢 Walking poles can be useful for the ascents and descents.
Dogs are not allowed on the race circuit so not welcomed on this walk, Loona is already giving me the side eye look of disgust.

Hiking, Hillwalking and motorsport can pose a danger of personal injury, and all participants should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions, involvement, and enjoyment. Please ensure you have the appropriate level of fitness required for the Grade of walk.
Participants are responsible for ensuring that their walking gear is suitable for the nature of the walk and the prevailing weather conditions (which participants are responsible for checking) and for bringing adequate food and water supplies.
Participants are responsible for following the event rules as per the event signage, any instruction form officials and as documented in the event program.
