Saline Hill circular from Steelend: Grade C Hill walk

Join us on this invigorating "new for 26" hill walk with fine views across three counties at the top of Saline Hill near Steelend in Fife!!

Distance: 6.5-7 miles
Ascent: 1000ft / 300m
Pace: Moderate
We will start at 10 am prompt and head clockwise around Saline Hill towards the north side through open fields, over farm gates and a couple of fences. Good farm tracks will lead us to our climb up Saline Hill. Stopping for a wee breather a couple of times on the way, we will have extensive views towards Stirling and the Ochil hills. As we climb to the top of Saline Hill, the estuary and Luvian plain of the River Forth will lie below us. If the weather is kind, views towards Ben Lomond in the West and Berwick Law to the east. From here, a fairly steep slope takes us back down into the village of Saline, where we will walk back up through the Saline Glen and return to the car park.

We'll be walking at the edge of fields with sheep and lambs. Dogs MUST be on a lead.

The paths are fairly good tracks; however, as we ascend to the summit, the grass is quite long, so perhaps gators/waterproofs might be of benefit.
