Shortoff Mountain Trail - Moderate

Follow MERB on this moderate out and back trail. Check out locations that we will be camping at in the future and take a few moments to sun bathe under the beautiful exposed sky on this section.

This is a lovely area of the Linville Wilderness. The trail is going to offer you breathtaking views of the gorge and gradually ascends. Trailhead parking is limited so please make sure to carpool if you can!

We can grab some burgers and great beer at this hole in the wall place Food Lion and I discovered.

Distance: 4.5 miles
Type: Out and back
Elevation gain: 1,200
Estimated Time: 3 hours depending on or group. The speed for a moderate level will be about 2.5 mph.
Meet up time: 12pm; this trail is about 2 hours from downtown Charlotte so please plan accordingly
Hike start time: 12:15PM
