The movie plot: "The Materialists" follows a young, ambitious New York City matchmaker, Lucy (played by Dakota Johnson), who finds herself torn between a "perfect match" (Pedro Pascal) and her imperfect ex-boyfriend (Chris Evans). Lucy, who has a successful matchmaking business, is celebrating her ninth client marriage when she bumps into both the rich bachelor and her ex-boyfriend on the same night, leading to a complicated love triangle.
