Start your journey up an old snow-covered fire road, where frozen waterfalls and natural ice sculptures shimmer in the winter light. At the top, a historic fire tower marks your entrance into The Channels—a maze of deep sandstone crevices carved into the mountain over time.
Winding through the narrow passageways feels like stepping into another world—a hidden cathedral of stone and snow, where every turn reveals the quiet magic of winter in the highlands. ✨

This hike will be led by Food Lion. We can grab some barbecue down in Abingdon once we are complete!

Trail: The Great Channels via Brumley Mountain Trail
Difficult: Moderate
Distance: 6.4 miles
Type: Out and back
Elevation gain: 1,338
Estimated Time: 3-4 hours depending on or group. We need to maintain a level of speed that keeps each other within eye site. Please be mindful of that.
Meet up time: 9:30am; this trail is about 3 hours from downtown Charlotte so please plan accordingly
