Daffodil Flats is one of those trails you plan for and hope the weather cooperates, because its peak season (talking Daffodils here) is short and absolutely worth catching. The hike itself leans toward the hard side — steady climbs, rugged sections, and a bit of grit required — but the payoff is unreal. After weaving through quiet woods, the trail drops down along the creek and opens into a wild sweep of daffodils that feel like something out of a love story. When they’re in bloom, it’s magic. A tough trail, yes… but the kind that rewards you a hundred times over.

After the hike we will head to Fonta Flora for a brew. That is located at: 6751 NC-126, Nebo, NC 28761. You can follow the leaders if that feels best.

This side of the Linville Gorge has wonderful camping spots. If you want to disperse camp you are able to do so if you follow all LNT policies. Disperse camping here is completely free. Please reach out to Merb or Food Lion if you have any questions on how/where or what is needed for camping.
