This hike will be guided by Food Lion.

This one has been on our list for a while. We’re heading deep into the Smokies for an overnight backpacking trip to the breathtaking Gregory Bald via Twentymile — one of the most rewarding balds in the park with wide-open mountain views, rolling ridgelines, and that magical Smoky Mountain energy.

This is a true backpacking experience. Expect elevation gain, changing terrain, creek crossings, long climbs, and full pack carry conditions. While this trip is absolutely beginner-friendly for those in good hiking shape, you MUST be mentally prepared for discomfort, flexibility, weather changes, and backpacking reality.

TRIP FLOW
Day 1 will intentionally be lighter mileage due to campsite restrictions and permit limitations within the park. We’ll ease into camp, settle in, cook dinner together, and enjoy a peaceful Smokies evening in the backcountry.

Day 2 is where we’ll push through and finish strong. Expect a longer hiking day with steady elevation and rewarding views as we make our way back out.
