Clear Creek, Winslow
Details
•Paddle the short, but beautiful, Clear Creek from McHood Park Campground. The stunning 3 mile one way, includes petroglyphs along the sandstone canyon walls with possible hike/exploring at the end of the creek before the return paddle to camp.
•There are many activities in the area, so feel free to add some in the comment section. Other activities could include "Standin' on the corner in Winslow Arizona", driving 5 miles to Homolovi State Park to view ancient ruins, or taking in some birding in the marsh area near the campsite.
•Relax at beachfront campsites for $15/night. Enjoy the dark sky nights.
•McHood Park includes restrooms with flush toilet, sink and questionable showers. Dumpster also onsite.
•There is NO POTABLE WATER.
•There is also no shade, so bring something if you've got it.
•Elevation is 4,855.
•There are 22 first come, first serve campsites. There should be no problems during the week. They allow more than one tent per site if there's room. There are no hookups.
Pay $15/night at the kiosk located at the beginning of the road heading back to the sites.
