About us
Welcome to Paddling LA and OC!
Love paddleboarding/kayaking and looking for an active, fun community to join? Whether you’re a seasoned paddler or a total beginner, this group is for everyone who wants to enjoy the water, get in a good workout, and connect with great people.
We partner with local rental companies, but bringing your own board is always a plus! Most of our paddles launch from Long Beach, though we’re always excited to explore new spots—feel free to suggest your favorite places!
After each paddle, we love sharing photos from the water, so make sure to snap a few! If you prefer not to be featured, just let us know. You can share your pics with the group on Meetup or in our Facebook group: Paddle LA and OC Facebook Group (JOIN).

Come when you can. If you’re ready for a good time, we’ll be there starting at 6:00 PM.We’re hosting a Happy Hour at my friend’s restaurant/bar, Let’s Yolk About It in Belmont Shore, and I’m excited to officially kick it off again. Follow them on IG @LetsYolkAboutIt.
This is a great local restaurant that deserves a strong turnout from our community. If you haven’t tried it yet, this is the perfect excuse.
Their grilled cheese and tomato soup is my personal favorite and a true local must-try. Simple, comforting, and mouthwatering, even for adults. :)
The full bar will be led by locally known mixologist Joseline. Ask her to create something special for you and let her take care of the rest.

Parking
There is plenty of free street parking around the venue, and additional parking is available in the lot behind the building. Volunteer with Adaptive Freedom Foundation in Newport Beach

We are always looking for volunteers who can greet and assist families, paddle alongside our wheelchair adapted boards, or take photographs. Don’t be shy, bring your funnest floaty! We will tie up to one another and have fun in the sun! If you don’t have one, splurge, they’re on sale on Amazon! There are some good ones! Floaty fun isn’t just for kids!

- Parking at Leeway may be a challenge…Uber, carpool, park at the beach, or just be patient and deal with it. It’ll be worth it!
- Bring your favorite food and beverage to share, it’s a beach buffet! A beach chair, towel and an electric pump if you care to share! The more pumps the faster we can float!

Sunset Paddle at Baby Beach - Dana Point 🌅
Baby Beach, 34451 Ensenada Pl, Dana Point, CA, USWe’re heading back to Dana Point and are excited to explore Dana Point Harbor during sunset. It’s a beautiful spot to paddle, and we’d love to have some local paddlers join us on the water.
We'll plan for calm water, a great group of people, and a sunset that should make the drive worth it. All skill levels welcome.

Parking is free right next to where we launch, so no stress there. We'll meet on the sand in front of the board rack.

What to bring:- Paddleboard or kayak
- Your paddle (sounds obvious, but we still see people forget it)
- A battery-operated light so you're visible as the sun goes down
- Life vest or belt and a leash

Timeline:- On the sand and ready at 6:00pm
- Quick intro and stretch at 6:10pm
- On the water by 6:15pm
- Back in around 7:45–8:00pm
- Food and drinks after for whoever wants to keep the hang going (no pressure to join)

After the paddle, we’ll be heading to Hennessey’s Tavern (34111 La Plaza, Dana Point, CA 92629) OR Jimmy's Famous American Tavern (25001 Dana Point Harbor Dr Unit F140, Dana Point, CA 92629) for anyone who wants to join us for food and drinks. Totally optional, but you’re more than welcome to come hang out after the paddle.

Need to rent a board? Reach out ahead of time, and we'll point you in the right direction. Board rentals aren't always available at our launch time, so plan ahead if you need one. Some of us have an extra board you can borrow, so reach out to me ASAP if you need one.

Solo? Come anyway. This group is easy to meet people in and we always have a good mix of new and returning members.
