Alamitos Bay Paddle Out Plastic

Paddle Out Plastic is coming to Alamitos Bay Sunday, June 27! We plan to paddle around Naples Island, in the canals and nooks and crannies, plucking litter out of the water as we go. We'll gather near the hose off station adjacent to the gondolas at the Leeway Sailing Center and plan to launch at 8:00 AM. If it takes you awhile to inflate your SUP or kayak or otherwise prepare to launch, plan your arrival accordingly. Should be a beautiful day, but the wind may pick up.
Best to wear sunscreen (ideally reef safe), hat, sunglasses, and reusable gloves. Wear or have on board a life vest/preserver. Bring a reusable water bottle and your choice of tools for picking up stuff--a net, grabbers, tongs--and for toting it--bucket, laundry basket, bag. Whatever you have on board, though, be sure to tie it down. We don't want to add to what's littering the water.
Wind and water conditions, even obstacles in the water, can always change, so best to keep an eye on that and consider your own skills and capabilities when choosing what activities to participate in. As with all Meetup activities, you accept responsibility and with kayaking/paddling, including picking up trash from the water, acknowledge potential dangers and fully assume all risks associated with participation.
