COASTAL CLEANUP DAY IN RAINBOW HARBOR
For Coastal Cleanup Day, let’s give a little love to Rainbow Harbor in Long Beach! This will be our last cleanup that we post in the Meetup forum. We'll launch from South Shore Launch Ramp, paddle across the mouth of the LA River and Queensway Bay and into Rainbow Harbor, cleaning up trash for about an hour and a half then paddle back.
Meet at 8:00AM for a group launch at 8:30AM (or if you have an inflatable or otherwise need extra time before launch, please plan your arrival accordingly so we can launch and paddle together). We launch early to return by 11AM before winds kick up. The parking fee at South Shore Launch Ramp is $12. Paddle Out Plastic will be at the parking kiosk 8:00 until 8:15 AM to cover parking for cleanup paddlers arriving in that window.
Bring your own vessel--kayak or SUP, a bucket or bag and cleanup tools, whatever you like to use, plus reusable gloves, water in a reusable bottle, sunscreen and your kayak or all-around or touring board with leash (for paddleboarders) and PFD.
