RECOVER FROM YOUR MOTHER - Paddle Rocky Gorge Reservoir at Supplee Lane

Details
You know that brunch with your mother is going to be a disaster. They're going to stick you at the cramped table closest to the host stand and you'll have to listen to a parade of Karens yell at the poor host because they couldn't figure out the online reservation system. Meanwhile your mother will insist on repeatedly bringing up the thing with Aunt Betty, then completely blow her top when the food comes out at different times. Total nightmare. Plan ahead by packing up your boat on Saturday and go straight from Cheesecake Factory to the reservoir.
The water is still quite low despite the recent rain, but there is still plenty to go on a roughly 4 mile cruise from the Supplee Lane launch ramp. BONUS: I'll be trying out my new, very tippy Epic V9 and might end up swimming a few times. It's certain to be a jolly good time. Or at the very least, better than Cheesecake Factory.
This is event is suitable for kayaks and canoes (but not inflatables). WSSC does not allow paddle boards on their reservoirs and has been getting more serious about enforcement. If you've got a seat attachment for your SUP and can paddle it sitting down, I think you're in the clear. As always, you must WEAR, not just carry your life jacket/PFD.
WSSC requires a watershed use permit. Permits are $6.25 per day or $72 for the year. I heard that they increased the fine for not having one to $100. You can purchase them online at:
