Tuesday Night Floating Concert Series on Back Creek - Paddle from Horn Point

I've never been to these weekly concerts but it sounds pretty darn fun, so let's check it out. This is a less formalized meetup event, but if you are joining me, we'll leave from Horn Point Beach promptly at 5:50pm. The stage is just about a mile around the bend, so we might miss the first song or two. Even though the days are getting longer you ABSOLUTELY NEED to bring a white light for after sunset wear your PFD at all times.

The launch at Horn Point can get choppy at times, so I will simply say that whatever craft you choose, you should be comfortable paddling it in open water near motorboat traffic. We will be hanging out near several marinas. As always, taking an inflatable "kayak" anywhere beyond the confines of a large swimming pool is a foolhardy choice and will be met with derision and an earnest plea to make better life choices. Inflatable SUPs at the correct operating pressure are of course welcome.

If you don't want to meet us at Horn Point, you can also launch from Ellen Moyer Park on the other side of Back Creek. It is a much shorter paddle (which means less fun, obviously).
