Potomac Paddle & Pedal - Brunswick/Point-of-Rocks - Bike or Car Shuttle - 7 mi

Details
This is the absolute favorite trip for a few our members, and for good reason! It's way better if you do the bike shuttle for the second half, but feel free to post in the comments if you're looking for a car shuttle buddy.
Here's the short version (LOOK IN THE PHOTOS SECTION FOR A MAP):
9:45: Lock up your bike at the Point-of-Rocks Boat Ramp or MARC Train Station. Then drive to the Brunswick MARC Station.
10:30: Launch our boats from the Brunswick Boat Ramp.
12:00: We'll pull over to an island to have lunch. Bring lunch!
2:30: We'll arrive at Point of Rocks. Leave your boat here. Grab your bike and pedal back to Brunswick to get your car.
3:15ish: Arrive back at your car. Load up your bike back onto your car. Drive back to Point-of-Rocks to retrieve your boat.
Point of Rocks Address:
3701 Canal Rd, Point of Rocks, MD 21777
Brunswick Address:
100 S Maple Ave, Brunswick, MD 21716 (UNDER the bridge)
First off: You need to bring your bike and lock it up at the Point of Rocks boat ramp or MARC Station.
We'll be doing an awesome and scenic round-trip 13 mile loop along the Potomac River using boats and bikes. Everyone always has a blast. Here's our itinerary:
- You need to bring your bike and lock it up at the Point of Rocks boat ramp or MARC Station NO LATER THAN 9:45am OR arrange a shuttle with a buddy in the comments below.
- Drive upriver to the Brunswick Boat ramp (our put-in).
- We'll launch together promptly at 10:30 for a leisurely paddle downstream towards Point of Rocks. As the name implies, we will see some rocks and riffles, but no real rapids. We will stop for lunch around the halfway point.
- Upon reaching Point of Rocks, you can unlock your bike and lock up your boat. The group will then bike 6.5 miles along the hardpack C&O canal trail back to Brunswick
- Once back at your car, you can drive back to Point of Rocks to pick up your boat. After our long adventure, I'm heading straight to the Rocky Point Creamery for ice cream and encourage you to join.
This is event is suitable for sit-on-top kayaks, canoes and touring/sea kayaks. Anyone using a recreational kayak should be experienced using their boat in mild currents. Paddle boards are welcome, but you need to be on the lookout for underwater obstructions (we've had members take a tumble previously when they hooked their skegs, they were both fine). Inflatable SUPs are allowed, but inflatable kayaks are not. Pedal kayaks are not at all recommended.
This is a fairly complicated plan and requires all participants to arrive in the correct places at the correct times. 10:30 is our launch time, so please arrive with plenty of time to unload your gear and get prepared. We will not wait for latecomers.
