Floating Concert on Back Creek - Paddle in from Ellen Moyer Park - Jimi Haha!

Several of us had a delightful time at last Tuesday's Free Concert Series, so we're doing it again next week. Local rocker Jimi Haha (you may remember his single Do Right with Jimmie's Chicken Shack in 1999) will be performing. This is a less formalized meetup event, but most of us will be launching from Ellen Moyer park at 6:15. Come earlier if you want a better parking spot. There were about 30 kayakers and paddleboarders last week. Even though this will be one of the longest days of the year, you ABSOLUTELY NEED to bring a white light for after sunset and wear your PFD at all times.

Bringing an anchor (like a five pound dumbbell with ten feet of rope) is also a brilliant idea, since the shifting tide will be gently pushing you around if you are untethered.

I saw people with boards from Capital SUP, so you can check with them if they are doing evening rentals for these events.
