Paddle Anacostia River to Kenilworth Aquatic Garden - RENTALS AVAILABLE

The rain looks increasingly in cooperative later in the afternoon, so I'm going to push up or start time to noon instead of 1:30. that should keep us much drier. It unfortunately means that anyone who is planning on renting has to do an all-day rental instead. Call the park office to check if they are even doing rentals today, considering the forecast.

We'll shove off from Bladensburg Waterfront Park promptly at 12:00pm and head downstream towards the National Arboretum. It will be high tide, so we can either do some exploring around the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens to see if any of the lotuses have transplanted themselves out to the tidal area. We will turn around there and fight a very gentle outgoing tide as we paddle back to Bladensburg. Total distance is just over 4 miles.

This is event is suitable for paddleboards, recreational/touring kayaks, and canoes, but not inflatable kayaks or rafts. Everyone must WEAR, not just bring a USCG-approved life jacket or PFD.

Please Please Please do not block any of the gangways to the docks with your car as you unload. I know there are enough of us that we could easily take down any rowers that want to start a fight with us, but some of us already have criminal records.
