Ducks in a Row (Yanahli Wildlife Management Area)

Details
Last time we did this section, we cut it short because of the threat of Armageddon-ish weather. Never had to do that before. It still smarts.
So, how about we do it again? It's supposed to be 80 degrees, not much chance of rain on Sunday...why not get serious about summer? It's only October...

It's time to get SERIOUS about summer.
How can you tell?
Well, among other ways,
When someone pelts you with a water uzi, you say, "Thanks!"

You discover that your pfd is more than just a rescue tool...

...and learn to take advantage of river air conditioning.
Everybody likes getting voted off the island!

And...

...nobody cares if you wear cotton (or much of anything else) on the river!
We haven't done the entire 284 miles of the Duck yet, so let's keep trying! This time, we'll do the Yanahli Wildlife Management Area (http://www.tn.gov/twra/gis/wmapdf/Yanahli_2010sm.pdf). And, as advertised, we're going to be serious...ly lazy. We'll start out at Higher Pursuits, the ladies who do outfitting right. They'll rent you a kayak if you need one ($25, http://www.higherpursuits.com/ , 931-840-8575 - reserve in advance!), shuttle those of us with our own boats to the put-in and from the take-out ($10 each), and sell you a popsicle after the paddle ($.25). Last time, we shot the rapids rapid on the Duck; this weekend, it'll be about 10 miles of eye candy, swimming holes, wild critters (different from the ones on Mr. Tossing's Buffalo paddles), or just being still and hanging out with one of the most beautiful parts of one of the prettiest rivers in Tennessee.
All Type A hats will be confiscated and returned at the end of the paddle. If you want them back.
