Paddle to Shell Key Preserve

Join us for a SUP tour of Shell Key Preserve. RSVP early as this is a very popular trip. We will paddle along the protected inland waters which are mostly shallow and flat to the island of Shell Key Preserve. The island borders the Gulf where we will take a break to rest. Paddlers can swim in the crystal Gulf waters, collect shells or dolphin watch.

Distance is between 4 and 6 miles (depending on our group).

Please bring water and sunscreen. Hat and water shoes are recommended. We will land on Shell Key around noon so a snack would be appropriate to bring. No pets or alcohol are permitted in the preserve.

Navigate to 2876 Pinellas Bayway S Tierra Verde, FL 33715 toward Fort DeSoto Park, IF YOU COME TO THE PARK ENTRANCE YOU WENT TOO FAR.

The Hole in the Hedge is just before the entrance to the park when the road changes from divided to 2 adjoining lanes and just before Tampa Bay Watch center.
