Thimble Islands

Details
- You must have your PFD on and fully fastened to participate in this event.
- Event start time is in your boat, in the water, and ready to paddle!
We will be launching from the Stony Creek public boat launch. It's a busy place on nice days, so please help each other unload quickly, then find parking. There is a flat grassy area next to the launch where you can put your boat until we are ready to launch. You should plan to be at the launch no later than 9:00 to unload and park.
- While this area is somewhat sheltered (i.e., not open ocean), spray skirts/spray decks are recommended. Please be sure that your boat, equipment, and skill level are appropriate for this paddle.
- IMPORTANT; If your boat does not have closed hatches, you should have fore and aft flotation bags.
Break will be at Outer Island--part of the Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge.
Required equipment: PFD, 10-foot length of rope, whistle, bilge pump/sponge, headlamp/flashlight (for evening paddles). Be prepared to give your emergency contact number to the host if he or she asks for it.
Please be considerate: be on time and cancel if you aren't able to come.
Boat size recommendation for this paddle is 12ft or larger.
