Details

EATERS ONLY ARE VERY WELCOME. YOU PAY THE DUES, COME EAT THE FOOD. REMEMBER, CALL BEV AND BE THERE AT 1 PM.
IF YOU ARE NOT PADDLING MEET US AT THE RESTAURANT AT 1 PM. PLEASE CALL BEV AT 860 234-9899 BY 10 AM IF YOU ARE COMING TO EAT SO WE ORDER ENOUGH FOOD.
CLASSIC PIZZA IS AT 598 PROVIDENCE ROAD, BROOKLYN. THAT'S AT DAY STREET AND ROUTE 6 (PROVIDENCE ROAD), JUST UP THE ROAD FROM THE LAUNCH.

You must have your PFD on and fully fastened to participate in this event.

  • Event start time is in your boat, in the water, and ready to paddle!

Due to cooler weather, we will be eating at Classic Pizza.

YES, IT IS THAT TIME OF THE YEAR AGAIN! Come paddle on the Quinebaug and then join us for our End of the Season Pizza Party.

NOTE: If you can only make it for the party, that's fine. We'd love to see you. Be at Classic Pizza at 1 p.m. Make sure you RSVP though, so we know you'll be coming. If the weather is not good, we will go to nearby Classic Pizza Brooklyn (597 Providence Rd, Brooklyn, CT--just across Route 6 on Day Street).

The Pizza's on us, but you'll have to do your own paddling. Hopefully you've met some friendly Paddle Killingly folks on the water this season and will jump at this opportunity to do a bit of socializing with them and gorge on pizza.

Meet at Riverside Park on Greenway Drive in Brooklyn. From Route 6 go north on Day Street. Greenway Avenue is the first right. Follow it around behind the apartment buildings and past the ball fields to the launch site. Putting this address in your GPS should get you to the apartment buildings: 26 Greenway Drive, Brooklyn CT.

This is a leisurely out and back paddle.
The Quinebaug River runs for almost 60 miles between Brimfield, Massachusetts and Norwich, Connecticut.
Riverside Park is at mile marker 42.6 of the river. To see or download the Quinebaug River Trail Paddle Guide, go to: http://www.brooklynct.org/sites/brooklynct/files/file/file/quinebaugriverpaddleguide2012.pdf

Required equipment: PFD, 10-foot length of rope, whistle, headlamp/flashlight (for evening paddles). And be prepared to give your emergency contact number to the host if he or she asks for it.
Please be considerate: be on time (in the water and ready to depart!) and cancel if you aren't able to come.
