Flatwater paddling on Roseland Lake, a 96-acre lake located in Woodstock, CT. Public boat access is along the north half of the western shoreline where there is a town park. The park runs along much of the western shoreline. The north shoreline is heavily wooded. The east and south shorelines have light residential development.

From the lake, we will go south along the Little River and through Shepard's Pond to the dam near Peake Brook Road and then back to the launch. The leisurely round trip takes about 2.5-3 hours.

There is an interesting private nature refuge on the northern end of the lake http://roselandlake.org/zeelandia.htm. And info about the park is at: http://www.roselandpark.org/

The launch is at the northern end of Roseland Park, which lies on the eastern side of Roseland Park Road. Putting 205 Roseland Park Rd, Woodstock, CT, into your GPS will get you close to the park entrance. Follow the road as it winds through the park and at the far north end, keep following the dirt road through the woods to the launch.

The park is located in southeastern Woodstock, on Roseland Park Road (near the intersection of 169 and 171). From I-395, Exit 97 (Route 44), head west on Route 44, turn right on Route 171 north, then turn right on Route 169 north and turn right on Roseland Park Road. Golf Course is on the left, Park is on the right.
