Sudbury River Kayak

Details

Hello everyone,

The goal is to enjoy a wonderful day on the Sudbury River. The launch site is located off Rt 117 in Lincoln MA. From Rt 495 you take 117 east and travel for 12.5 miles. At this point you will cross over Lee's Bridge and the launch site is on your left, immediately after the bridge. Last time we made this trip we kayaked towards the Minute Man National Park. This time we will head in the opposite direction. There are two parking lots so plenty of room.

Please be prepared to paddle at 9 am. The goal is to Kayak for about three hours and stop along the way for breaks as needed.

The following link provides a map of the launch site (#21) and will give you some insight into the trip itself.

I'm limiting the attendance to 15 people. Please remember to bring plenty of water, food and of course your camera.

Additionally, there will be no shuttling. We will return to the launch site when finished.

PLEASE NOTE* The organizers in this group are NOT trained leaders or instructors. The organizers only set the time and place, each person participating in any group trip is responsible for their own safety. Each participant is responsible for evaluating all relevant conditions for the trip and determining if their skills and equipment are appropriate for those conditions.

Required: PFD (worn), whistle, headlamp/flashlight (evening paddles). Optional/recommended: pump/bailer, insect repellent, sunscreen, water, snack, change of clothes in drybag, sunglasses, hat/visor.

In areas where there is a boat launch intended to be used by people with trailers, please, if possible, launch to the side of the ramp and do not block the ramp with your kayak or other belongings.

See you all soon.
