About us
Welcome to Paddling LA and OC!
Love paddleboarding/kayaking and looking for an active, fun community to join? Whether you’re a seasoned paddler or a total beginner, this group is for everyone who wants to enjoy the water, get in a good workout, and connect with great people.
We partner with local rental companies, but bringing your own board is always a plus! Most of our paddles launch from Long Beach, though we’re always excited to explore new spots—feel free to suggest your favorite places!
After each paddle, we love sharing photos from the water, so make sure to snap a few! If you prefer not to be featured, just let us know. You can share your pics with the group on Meetup or in our Facebook group: Paddle LA and OC Facebook Group (JOIN).

☀️Sunny Summer Paddle in Long Beach!
Leeway Beach, 5437 E. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, CA, USSummer is in fully swing and we can't wait to cool off on the water with everyone!
Grab your board (or kayak) and meet us in Alamitos Bay, Long Beach. All skill levels are welcome, and you may also bring your furry friend if they’re comfortable.
What you’ll need:
- A paddleboard (or kayak)
- A paddle (don’t forget this)
Paddle Route:
We’ll be going into the Naples Canals and then around Naples Island. (approx. 4 miles) And I know 4 miles sounds scary, but I promise it's not as bad as it seems. :)Timeline:
- Be ready by 9:30am
- Underway by 9:40am
- Back by 11:45-12pm
**TBD - For those interested, we usually go somewhere after if you want to join.
Need to rent a board or kayak?
Kayaks On The Water (rental place) opens at 9:00am so you can be on the water and ready for the excursion. FYI, they make you take a 20-ish minute training if this is your first time.

“Jumping Jack Flash” Paddle- live music
Leeway Beach, 5437 E. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, CA, USBack by popular demand!! Let’s go listen to some music from the comfort of our Boards! 🎵 🎶
Grab your board 🏄♀️ or kayak and meet us at Alamitos Bay in Long Beach. All skill levels are welcome, and you must be comfortable paddling when it starts to get dark.
What you’ll need:
- A paddleboard or kayak
- A paddle (don’t forget this)
- A battery-operated light 💡🔦 so you can be seen by boats and others when it starts to get dark.
- Life vest/belt and a leash
Paddle Route:
We will begin at the bay. Paddle down to Mothers Beach for the live music of Rolling Stones cover band- “Jumping Jack Flash” then paddle around the island back to leeway after the concert. Optional to bring an adult beverage or two. (Please drink responsibly).Approximately 3 miles.
Timeline:
- On the sand, ready to go at 5:45
- Back by 8:00-8:30
- TBD - We may go somewhere for food/drinks after for whoever is interested.
Need to rent a board? Unfortunately, the rental facility is closed at our designated meet time. If you need to rent a board, our Saturday events would be best to join as the rental facility can accommodate at this time.

Sunset Paddle at Baby Beach - Dana Point 🌅
Baby Beach, 34451 Ensenada Pl, Dana Point, CA, USWe’re heading back to Dana Point and are excited to explore Dana Point Harbor during sunset. It’s a beautiful spot to paddle, and we’d love to have some local paddlers join us on the water.
We'll plan for calm water, a great group of people, and a sunset that should make the drive worth it. All skill levels welcome.

Parking is free right next to where we launch, so no stress there. We'll meet on the sand in front of the board rack.

What to bring:- Paddleboard or kayak
- Your paddle (sounds obvious, but we still see people forget it)
- A battery-operated light so you're visible as the sun goes down
- Life vest or belt and a leash

Timeline:- On the sand and ready at 6:00pm
- Quick intro and stretch at 6:10pm
- On the water by 6:15pm
- Back in around 7:45–8:00pm
- Food and drinks after for whoever wants to keep the hang going (no pressure to join)

After the paddle, we’ll be heading to Hennessey’s Tavern (34111 La Plaza, Dana Point, CA 92629) OR Jimmy's Famous American Tavern (25001 Dana Point Harbor Dr Unit F140, Dana Point, CA 92629) for anyone who wants to join us for food and drinks. Totally optional, but you’re more than welcome to come hang out after the paddle.

Need to rent a board? Reach out ahead of time, and we'll point you in the right direction. Board rentals aren't always available at our launch time, so plan ahead if you need one. Some of us have an extra board you can borrow, so reach out to me ASAP if you need one.

Solo? Come anyway. This group is easy to meet people in and we always have a good mix of new and returning members.

We’re teaming up again with Human Aeon (www.humanaeon.org) for a wellness experience focused on contrast therapy, mindful breathwork, and meaningful connection, exclusively for our Living LA and OC community and Human Aeon members. Whether you're a seasoned cold plunger or trying it for the first time, you'll be supported by a relaxed, welcoming group focused on health, personal growth, and community. Come solo or bring a friend.What’s the Flow:
5:00 PM – Arrive, connect, and settle in. Light mingling as we prep for breathwork.
5:30 PM – Guided Micro-Breathwork Session (25 minutes). Optional but recommended. A short intro will set the stage.
Skipping breathwork? Please text David at 562-537-9206 so we can allocate space.
6:00–7:00 PM – Cold Plunge + Sauna Sessions + Social Time. Expect relaxed music, great conversations, and a grounding shared experience. Only participate in what you feel comfortable with.What to Bring:
Swimsuit, towel (towels will also be provided), water bottle, warm layers for after (sweatpants, hoodie, etc.), and, optionally, something to sip or share.How to RSVP + Pay:
(ONLY $20 if you pay early and $25 if you wait to RSVP)
This is a prepaid, limited-capacity event.

After RSVP, you’ll receive a waiver via email from Human Aeon before the event.
