About us
Welcome to Paddling LA and OC!
Love paddleboarding/kayaking and looking for an active, fun community to join? Whether you’re a seasoned paddler or a total beginner, this group is for everyone who wants to enjoy the water, get in a good workout, and connect with great people.
We partner with local rental companies, but bringing your own board is always a plus! Most of our paddles launch from Long Beach, though we’re always excited to explore new spots—feel free to suggest your favorite places!
After each paddle, we love sharing photos from the water, so make sure to snap a few! If you prefer not to be featured, just let us know. You can share your pics with the group on Meetup or in our Facebook group: Paddle LA and OC Facebook Group (JOIN).
If you’re also into hiking, happy hours, or golfing, be sure to check out our other awesome groups:

We can't wait to paddle with you and build a community on the water. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call or text me!
Let's build a community together!

Adventure to Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area
Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area, 15501 Arrow Hwy, Irwindale, CA, USSanta Fe Dam Recreational Area
Located a short distance from I-605 near Irwindale at:
15501 E. Arrow Highway
Baldwin Park, CA 91706The Santa Fe Dam Reservoir is a freshwater 70 acre lake that is home to many species of native plants 🪴 and wildlife 🐾The lake offers clear and cool water, small islands 🌴that can be explored, and a panoramic view of the San Gabriel mountains at the edge of Angeles national Forest 🌳. The water is approximately 5 feet deep or less all around, which makes it a great place for both beginning and novice paddlers. Rentals are available.
The location is also convenient for paddlers 🏄who live around the San Gabriel Valley area. The park provides well maintained public restrooms 🚽and filtered water stations, 🚰 children’s playgrounds 🛝and more. Charcoal grills are allowed.
There are parking and use fees, so carpooling is recommended as Parking is 15 per vehicle. The non-motorized watercraft day use fee is 9.
Since there are parking and use fees, we should take the opportunity to stay and get to know each other with a group picnic 🧺 and Paddling 🏄throughout the day.🌞
I’ve included some photos from when Darrin was there in early March to check it out. More information about the park and facilities can be found online through a quick Google search and visiting the website.
