Details
Santa Fe Dam Recreational Area
Located a short distance from I-605 near Irwindale at:
15501 E. Arrow Highway
Baldwin Park, CA 91706
The Santa Fe Dam Reservoir is a freshwater 70 acre lake that is home to many species of native plants 🪴 and wildlife 🐾The lake offers clear and cool water, small islands 🌴that can be explored, and a panoramic view of the San Gabriel mountains at the edge of Angeles national Forest 🌳. The water is approximately 5 feet deep or less all around, which makes it a great place for both beginning and novice paddlers. Rentals are available.
The location is also convenient for paddlers 🏄who live around the San Gabriel Valley area. The park provides well maintained public restrooms 🚽and filtered water stations, 🚰 children’s playgrounds 🛝and more. Charcoal grills are allowed.
There are parking and use fees, so carpooling is recommended as Parking is 15 per vehicle. The non-motorized watercraft day use fee is 9.
Since there are parking and use fees, we should take the opportunity to stay and get to know each other with a group picnic 🧺 and Paddling 🏄throughout the day.🌞
I’ve included some photos from when Darrin was there in early March to check it out. More information about the park and facilities can be found online through a quick Google search and visiting the website.
