Join Hooper's Day Hike in Shawnee National Forest. Oak Trail, Bluff Trail, Pine Trail is a 2.6 mile loop trail located near Golconda, Illinois that offers the chance to see wildlife and is good for all skill levels. There are small stream crossings, so waterproof footwear is strongly encouraged. This trail contains a mix of packed gravel trails and rocky, unstable trails that are sometimes muddy.
This is about a 30 minute drive to the trail head and 1-1.5 hour day hike. There is another great trail nearby that we encourage you to go see afterwards, Ghost Dance Canyon Trail.
We will meet at this parking lot (37.38514789857615, -88.66573815972343) at the Dixon Springs State Park Campground around 1:40 PM and hit the trail at 2:00 PM.
