What we’re about

Join us at the Paessler Rust Camp 2024 for a hands-on workshop on Rust development. This event is perfect for beginners and intermediate developers looking to expand their knowledge in software engineering with Rust.

In hosting this event, we at Paessler AG aim to elevate internal and external developers' Rust programming skills in a free and informal space. We want to facilitate knowledge sharing, skill enhancement, and collaborative programming. After the icebreaking presentation, everybody has the opportunity to propose a simple project idea. We then take a shot at implementing selected ideas in hands-on coding sessions.

Event Flow:

  1. Arrival and Welcome

Participants arrive and are welcomed in a relaxed informal setting.
Brief introduction to the event and its schedule.

  1. Icebreaking Presentation

To get everyone onto the same page, a welcoming presentation sets the tone for the evening.

  1. Open Space Idea Exchange

If you like to shape the event, bring a topic and you will have the chance to present it. All topic ideas will be collected in a pool.
Topics could be specific small project ideas, coding challenges, crates to check out, a discussion subject, or a spicy take on a recent community drama. (Not Paessler related!)
Keep in mind that you will have about 2 hours to work on the topics - it goes by faster than one would think!
When you have found your group, use your time to explore the basics and details and discuss your approach.

  1. Lunch and Huddle

Our chef will cook a nice Lunch for us!

  1. Coding Sessions

Participants collaborate in small groups to tackle the ideas from the pool.
We may employ mob programming techniques, rotating roles within the group, but you don't have to.

  1. Showcase

Each group presents their approaches and solutions, opening up for dialogue with the audience.
